Experience the joy of getting up close and personal with cuddly farm animals and learn all about chickens, goats, ducks, rabbits and the rest of your farm favourites.
Thanks to the generous support of Lotterywest, children with special needs and their families will be given a unique experience to visit the Animal Nursery prior to the gates opening to the public each day.
Embrace your inner scientist and discover where your food comes from and how it is grown. This experience is ideal for children aged between 4 and 8 years old and will also include a dairy cow, milking facility, and interactive talks with growers and producers.
Children can immerse themselves in practical applications such as digging for potatoes, collecting eggs from chickens, sorting through wool and working with grain. The general premise is that the children harvest the product and get paid for their work, just like a farmer, and then they go to the store and redeem their money for an item. This concept teaches children in a practical way, where their food comes from and the importance of farmers.
Watch working farm dogs with their precision and agility manoeuvre sheep towards their intended finish – a pen.
