MONSTER CREATURE WORLD
Claremont Showgrounds Exhibition Centre
15 to 24 January 2021
8:00 am to 6:00 pm
The world premiere tour of Monster Creature World rolls into Perth in time for entertaining the kids over the Christmas school holidays. It’s an exhibition like no other. Featuring audio-animatronic bugs and creatures, scaled-up 500 times, and with the details, moves and sounds that are just like the real thing.
See what they’re made of
Test your kids’ bravery in front of the six-metre tarantula. Watch them flinch as the six-metre scorpion makes its move. And enjoy seeing them captivated by the clicks and hisses of the termite, locust, fly, mantis, dragonfly and more.
But the exhibition is not just for the kids. It blends technology, science, and artistry. It engages and captures the imagination of anyone who has even a passing interest in the natural world and a curiosity of how small creatures make a big contribution to ecosystems. Explore the adaptations that allow a dung beetle to convert animal waste and help suppress flies in summer. See the before and after of a caterpillar’s transformation to a butterfly. Get up and personal with a bee pollinating a flower.
And because the event is at the Showgrounds, an indoor, children’s amusement ride area will operate alongside the café – this will be a great opportunity for the kids to let off the last of their steam while the adults rest and recharge.
They’re not going to sit and wait forever
Monster Creature World is in Perth for only a ten-day season before it heads east. And because it’s necessary to manage crowd sizes and ensure social distancing in this era of being COVID-safe, tickets are only available through the online Ticket-box. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to sell tickets at the door.
There’ll plenty of parking within the Showgrounds (enter via Gate 5) and the Showgrounds Train Station will be operating for the duration of the event.
The audio-animatronic Dino Festival will be in Perth in April 2021 and there will be a special preview at Monster Creature World. Come and see, hear, and be awed by the eight-metre triceratops, the nine-metre saltasaurus and the five-metre parasaurolophus and stegosaurus.
